My teaching experience encompasses five years of teaching private lessons to people of all ages, backgrounds, and voice types. I have successfully helped students nail Broadway, film, college, and community theatre auditions. I love to challenge students and help them overcome any obstacles in their voice. Singing is such a vulnerable and sensitive instrument mostly because it is not visible to the human eye. I teach not only music performance which includes technique, memorization, practice techniques, body mechanics and health, and memorization but also theory, ear training, music history, performance and music business. All my students have opportunity to perform, learn how to audition for local musical theatre productions, how to record and how to prepare for careers in the arts (if they choose). In 2008, I graduated from Russian Academy of Theatre Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. Since that time I performed all over the world as a leading soloist in the shows of Sambateria World Music Orquestra, Spanish Dance Theater Flamenco Live, Gypsy Soul Show. I spend a couple of minutes every week quizzing them on their keyboard note identification until this has become a solid foundation for them. For additional practise, I have them colour in worksheets in addition to the quizzing. We also play the keyboard race game which is always a hit with students. A number of my new students in this age category are transfer students who have been learning for some time and are reading music notation in their method books, despite having significant trouble identifying notes on the keyboard quickly.
