Jill has been teaching children and adults for 20 years. I studied voice and piano and performed at various venues. Now, I focus more on teaching piano and voice. We work on technique, performance, note reading, sight reading, and interpretation. We also work on music theory. In other words, I love to provide a fun, modern, easy energy to my studio, but hold my students accountable to practice their repertoire on their own time, come prepared and ready to sing and make progress at each lesson, while still connecting with them and treating them like a person and building that personal connection as well, that I believe is so vital in maintaining a relationship that goes beyond the doors of a studio or practice room. I always figure out where a student is at, and prefer to grow off the student's strengths as opposed to harping on their weaknesses. I have been in lessons before where teachers couldn't get past the smallest details, and these ruined the experience for me, as well as greatly affected what I was able to accomplish in my lessons.
