The main goal is not only to improve a student's musicality, but also to foster what make music interesting to them! With that in mind I start off by finding what path they would like to take (i.e. musical theater, jazz, a rounded approach, etc.) and try to build a plan that holds their interest while also gives them important lessons and building blocks that apply to various styles. The goal for each lesson is for the student to notice their progress and develop a passion for music. Student input is very important to me. In my lessons I strive to make the student feel comfortable enough to ask questions and make comments about their own progress. I am encouraging yet firm and expect a lot from my students. My lessons are fun and informative, and they help me convey my love of music! Read More

I teach vocal students from ages 6-adult. We work on breathing techniques, music theory, interpretation, and style. I like students to sing their favorite styles. I also expose them to songs that I feel would be appropriate for their growth. We also work on performance and auditions! I like to incorporate a lot of music theory and note reading into my teaching as well. Everyone is at a different level so I cater lessons to fit the needs of each student. Read More

I have accompanied for the past six summers, and I eventually held the title of Lead Music Teacher. At school in Chicago, I did some vocal coaching of my peers. I have experience in teaching and coaching both musical theatre repertoire and classical repertoire. Read More

Therefore, my methods/practices consist largely of proper breathing exercises during warmups, but also selecting solo repertoire that focuses on building proper and healthy bridges between your chest/head voice, as to create a smoother, less-noticeable transition that also sustains your voice throughout the course of your singing career.
