I am a professional entertainer and teacher with over 27 years experience in the music industry. I started performing professionally at the early age of 7. I enjoy mentoring the needs of every individual student and watching their faces light up when " they get it" and the hard work starts to pay off. As a teacher it is always my goal to help my students develop their craft and protect their instrument so that they can have a life long career in music business and be the best that THEY CAN BE! My junior year culminated with a semester in New York City working in an administrative/artistic internship at the Metropolitan Opera. During school, and immediately upon graduating, I was fortunate enough to see my interest in music and theatre education realized in my work opportunities. For the past few summers, I worked at four community arts organizations, as both a teacher and an administrator. I currently work at Hartford Stage company as an education apprentice, where I serve as a teaching artist in a variety of capacities, as well as assisting with general education department logistics. As a child, I was endlessly inspired by my piano teacher. She was quirky and unconventional, never wanting music to feel like a "chore." When I would get frustrated with myself, she'd throw up her hands and exclaim, "let's take a break and jam!" She would then pull out a chord progression and we'd improvise together until I was ready to go back to my sheet music. She sparked an excitement in me that I try to pass on to my students. Read More

During that time, I've had the joy of working with students of all ages as a drum instructor at Northfield Mount Hermon, a music teacher at Greens Farms Academy, a general music and chorus teacher at Amherst Middle School, a summer music instructor at Deerfield Academy, and with continued private lessons. I've also recorded drums on over 20 albums and played hundreds of shows with a diverse group of artists across the country. Read More

I've actually written and produced my own music theory book that was in all Borders stores before they closed down. I've learned a few methods and I try to incorporate them all unless the student or parents wants something specific. My method is a method where I can teach 1 thing countless ways. I love my students to learn theory because it is a very important backbone to music. Some people can play instruments without ever really kwoing what they are playing or understand the theory behind it, and I think it holds them back from truely being creative and understanding of music. With my methods students will be able to play from any genre, any book, and hopefully will be able to create their own music. Read More
