I am very encouraging and patient as a teacher, i understand how learning is when your trying to get over the hurdles. My compassion allows me to put myself in the students shoes, which makes me a better teacher. I like to encourage the student to listen to artists and incorporate musical philosophy to inspire the student to play and achieve and experiment. I think being curious is a musician's best friend, it creates the drive to want to learn more. Read More

My teaching experience began in undergrad, our teachers started a vocal pedagogy class in which we were required to have a student. Also in undergrad we participated in a studio repertoire class where we would sing for one another. We watched our teacher give constructive criticism and participated in giving compliments and criticism as well. Read More

I believe EVERYONE has the ability to sing. Some voices will go on to do big things, and some will help to build confidence in their everyday lives. I grew up with loving and compassionate teachers and family members. It's my job as a human being to offer that same level of respect and compassion. Students are encouraged to set their own goals. I do NOT believe it demanding students to practice on a schedule I create. Types of students that have represented my studio in the past: * Classical Singers * Musical Theatre Performers (professional) * Community Theatre Performers * Pageant Contestants * KARAOKE Singers (MANY contest winners) * High School Students preparing for college programs and auditions (CAP-22, USC, NYU, Boston Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon, among others) * Retirees I feel that what makes me a fantastic option as a teacher is my equal love for the art of singing and performance AND for teaching, as well. Music has always been a part of my life. I became involved in music, theater and dance at a young age, performing in countless professional productions. In my teens and early adulthood, I began writing and recording music and became involved in a number of recording projects that led me to teaching. I gave my first lesson over a decade ago and I continue to perform when I can. I graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy with concentrations in Theater and Music, and I worked for Women's Audio Mission in San Francisco. Read More

Both passionate and laid back, ambitious and realistic, I have found great success through having an open mind and grateful spirit in this crazy music business. My friends and colleagues have described me as consistently positive, easy to get to know, and warm hearted. I hold two degrees in vocal performance, and consider the countless hours I've spent teaching in the studio and performing on stage to be my greatest assets. Read More

For children just beginning their instrument, I teach finger placement and note location on the piano by using a color coding system to use in learning a song from John Thompson's Easy Piano Course. From there i introduce songs that interest them and develop sheet music comprehension, rhythm, finger technique and harmony development at a pace comfortable for your child. For older students, I ask them what their interests in music are. Read More
