However, that's an intimidating road to stare down, when you're at the start! But the journey of learning music is all part of the fun. To help make this more palatable, I like to get to know the student a bit more, to understand what it is that they enjoy listening to, and why they like it. By incorporating material that they enjoy, and by keeping the environment of the lesson fun, safe, and comfortable, it's easy to give people the tools they need to really enjoy playing their instrument to their fullest potential. I am sure, I was born a teacher, because when I explain anything, even in piano class, guitar or voice classes, I can see the reactions of the student when they understand me. I've taught for more than 6 years and I've worked with students of all age groups with a diverse range of experience. Having a classical technique is always beneficial for a clean sound. Most of the things we hear on the radio are filtered and shouldn't be forced out! I have worked with a wide range of stylistic choices and would love to assist students in exploring their capabilities. Being a performer myself, I ensure that the students are having fun and are ready to sing whenever and wherever! Read More

I love working with students who want to dare to try new things! I think that students grow most when they are stretched out of their comfort zone. This allows them to find their limits physically, vocally, emotionally, and then to build upon their strengths to become the artists they strive to be. I like to incorporate physicality to help loosen the body and free the mind from overthinking. I also believe music is a place to express and will always meet my student where they are each lesson. In 2022, I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with high distinction in Vocal Performance. I have had opportunities to perform in venues like the historical Old Cabell Hall, the Kennedy REACH Center for the Arts, the PowerStation recording studio, the Cutting Room, and Green Room 42 (two historic venues in New York City). I have a tried and true set of vocal building exercises (also known as "warmups") that I use with all of my students. These exercises help to strengthen students middle voices, extend their ranges, increase their agility, and increase their stamina. I combine these exercises with carefully assigned repertoire to promote growth and functional freedom. I love to have my students sing in many different genres because our voices are muscles, and I believe that they should be cross-trained so one can be as versatile and flexible as possible. Read More
