Though there are many different ways to teach, I will gravitate more towards my preferred learning style which is through discovery and analysis. I enjoy finding different ways to tackle one specific task and I enjoy taking part in that journey with my students. Those moments when their eyes light up when they realize a whole new dimension of possibilities just opened up for them because they found a new piece to the puzzle. Read More

My approach to teaching is very student-centric. I firmly believe that every student has unique talents and insights. I strive to find the right balance for every student, between their personal goals and what areas of opportunity for growth I see for them. My teaching style is non judgemental, holistic and trauma informed. I focus heavily on making sure my student is truly comfortable and feels safe in their lessons, and in my experience, this is critical to ensure progress and good technique. I take notes during lessons to ensure that goals are set and achieved, and I spend at least two hours a week just brainstorming repertoire and technical exercises for my students based on their needs. I have a passion for composition and producing, and also enjoy finding innovative ways to encourage and challenge my music students. Read More

My teaching style is well rounded approach. I teach not only music performance which includes technique, memorization, practice techniques, body mechanics and health, and memorization but also theory, ear training, music history, performance and music business. All my students have opportunity to perform, learn how to audition for local musical theatre productions, how to record and how to prepare for careers in the arts (if they choose). Many of my students are composers/songwriters, produce albums, perform with local companies, Disney performers or are actors in theatre, television and motion picture. Read More

We will go over timing, and strumming patterns, as well as knowing the circle of fifths, harmony, scales, finger technique warm ups for both hands, and pick control using a number of exciting songs as a supplement so we can play and practice at the same time.
