For voice students, we usually warm up, do technical exercises working on varying registers and techniques, and then work on repertoire. I often find the passages in a particular song that the student is struggling with and focus in on those, finding exercises to guide the student. I begin with the basics of breath control and work to help each student find their natural voice. I use different vocal exercises to help improve tone and range and then incorporate what we've learned from those exercises into singing songs. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years.
