My first experience teaching someone was when I was younger in my high school days, I was teaching my 7 year old nephew how to play ukulele which was an arduous task indeed. But through said trails and tribulations we managed to accomplish our goals together. Currently Im teaching guitar at the fine arts academy and I am teaching one student consistently while also substituting occasionally. I choose the books according to my assessment of the student during the introductory lesson. The Faber Method is one of the more popular ones. I also use the Alfred All-in-One books series. As supplemental material, I use Keynote Speller by Shaum and Line a Day by Keith Snell.  For solo repertoire, I select methods based on the skills and favorite pieces of each student. At the same time I was learning percussion and drums in grade school. Two years later, I started singing and piano lessons from my musical mentor and friend Margery Heinz. I started my musical studies at a summer workshop coarse athe the University of Southern California where I studied Jazz performance.
