I have been instructing students in voice for a year now. I have worked with kids as young as 6 years old to high school level. I encourage consistent and regular practice, but also breaks and time to ask questions if one is stuck and not sure what to do. I mainly use classical style techniques and songs to build strong vocal instruments, but I also reference and use genres that individual students prefer to sing to keep their interest and build their love for singing. I am a passionate music teacher who believes that music is truly a universal language, shared by all cultures the world over and one of the best characteristics of our humanity. As a kinesthetic learner, I have always had a tendency of using colors, rhymes, similarities, acronyms among other things to ease my learning ability of which I have found myself using a similar method when explaining a concept to one of my students. Setting short and long term goals allow for me and the student to be enthusiastic to learn and eager to step into our next lesson.
