For brass instrumental students, I generally use the Rubank Method books, focusing on care of the instrument and basic fundamentals. For piano students I use a variety of different method books and am not tied down to any one series. We will also work on scales and the Hannon series For vocal students, I use a series of vocalises, scales and other exercises to strengthen the voice. Perfection is not important to me. What is important is that my students strive and become the best that they can be. I want to instill in them the desire to reach their goals. That being said, I believe every student will work at their own pace. We will work together on goals that are realistic during the time frame. I will ask the student what his/her goals are and I will use my set of skills to work towards those goals through repertoire, vocal exercises, and an understanding of the voice. Read More
