My teaching style is best referred to as a facilitator. Essentially, I promote self-learning, helping students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualization. I prefer to guide students by letting them think for themselves, pointing out when mistakes are made but also encouraging them to learn and grow from them. I graduated from Gordon college in 2008 with a degree in music education and taught K-8 grade for several years, which included directing children's choirs, teaching private lessons, and teaching general music to many ages. I would say my second best quality as a teacher is being able to teach the theory behind the musical they are learning. I mainly teach voice, guitar, and piano, but through those styles, I also teach jazz guitar, vocal improvisation, classical and jazz theory, ear training, vocal technique, and composition  and arranging.
