I started playing acoustic folk styles in 1962 and added 60's rock and more as time went on. I joined my first rock band in 1965 and have now played all styles of rock, blues, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, and contemporary Christian and worship music. I also play and teach bass and other stringed fretted instruments, keyboards, and drums and percussion. I would go to the piano and try to make up songs that I could dance to, which then lead me to take piano lessons for 15 years. Breathing gives life to singing, and learning the correct way to breathe takes much time and practice. I give them warm ups and drills to practice at home to improve their breathing and other techniques. I will either let the student choose what songs they would like to work on or give them suggestions, depending on their preferences and needs.
