I am a high-energy, working professional singer with 15+ years of performance experience and 10+ years of vocal teaching/coaching at your service! I received a Masters of Music in Voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and a Bachelors of Music from DePauw University. Classically trained and now singing as the female lead of a regional wedding band 2-5 nights a week. During my time at DePauw, I spent time in China singing with a chamber choir, a summer singing with an opera company in Novafeltria, Italy, and a semester studying at the conservatory in Milan, Italy. I have performed in many different groups including Cincinnati Boychoir, May Festival Youth Chorus, Great Miami Youth Symphony, Wright State University Chamber Orchestra, and the Hamilton Fairfield Chorale. For voice I create my own custon lesson plans and use a variety of materials. Students will work on a great variety of repetorie from pop to renaissance. Students are encourgaed to learn to read music, with a great emphasis placed upon practical music theory. I aim to develop intellegent musical artists, foscuing upon intrepretation, critical thinking, historical considerations and creativity. Mistakes are how every singer improves! With older students, I want to help students learn to recognize their own mistakes and areas they can improve on. I will always be ready to help them on trouble areas or encourage them when they get it right, but I want them to learn how to recognize it on their own so they can develop outside of a lesson! This comes from having them identify: where something didn't go as planned, why didn't it, and what can they do to improve it the next time. Read More
