The voice is not something we can see or touch, so I often joke that singing is about learning Jedi mind tricks that help us achieve a healthy technique. I will generally start out with well known songs sung by ear, and then depending on the students level help them to learn to read music. I want students to be confident and successful, so I will do anything in my power to help them learn good technique and practice habits.
