I typically use the Alfred books for young beginning students. In these books, children learn the geography of the keyboard and learn about the contours of musical notation and by the end are using both hands. For adults, as well as intermediate children and up, I prefer the Michael Aaron series for intermediate and beyond. For beginning adults I use the Aaron Musical Primer. I also use the Aaron Technic for advanced performers. Read More

I love teaching voice! I see singing as a full body experience with a free and easy technique. I love to make singers into better versions of themselves and better artists. I am a strong believer in the fact that singing should always be done out of love and fun in the persuit of excellence. I am a graduate from the University of Toronto and the Juilliard School. I have an undergraduate, masters and artist diploma from the above schools. Read More

Hey! I am a performer, and I love to find various ways to perform as a musician, actor, comedian, and teacher/tutor/mentor. I love to connect and communicate with audiences and/or students through my voice, my jokes, or my instruments. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a bachelors in Psychology and Theater Arts, and spent much of my time performing on stage in musicals and plays. I proudly identify as a "jack of all trades" and am constantly using the various mediums of performing to learn, connect, feel, and gain the opportunity to experience something new. Read More

I start off all beginning students by teaching them the fundamentals of singing. If students have taken lessons in the past, I work on reviewing fundamental concepts with them. When a student first begins lessons, I typically spend more time on helping to build the student's technique than on repertoire, and as the student progresses, I split the lesson more equally between the two components. I believe in motivating students by helping them learn the repertoire to which they are most attracted, though I do also give them repertoire of styles with which they may be less familiar in order to help them solidify their technique. Im a very go with the flow type of teacher. I will always cater to my students needs, so if that means sticking with one song for a year, thats what we will do. What I dont want to happen is for music to become a chore, so if we find that something isnt working, I have no problem switching it up. Any progress we make in lessons is good progress, and I will make sure to acknowledge that. Read More

A teacher who is not implementing his own skills or who does not experiment and search for different forms of practice will soon become very limited and limiting. As a kid, I was raised in the so-called Russian tradition, took lessons with European professors in my teenage years, and immigrated to North America at the age of nineteen. A by-product of cross-culturalism, I simultaneously learned the principles of different violin schools, researched their traditions, particularities, and distinctions. Read More

My goal in teaching is to make the student feel relaxed and at ease and therefore open to trying new ideas. I help them set realistic goals and acknowledge their accomplishments along the way, making them more eager to practice and learn.  I love seeing that spark when an idea clicks and the student finally understands a concept or achieves a goal. There's no better feeling than helping a student move from one level to the next. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
