For all beginner students, I begin with the Essential Elements books. Once fingering and bowing have been introduced, I begin incorporating level-appropriate scales. These etudes and scales are vital for learning the technique necessary for more advanced pieces. I always wanted to be an opera singer until I discovered vocal jazz. Now, I write music inspired by jazz theory (sort of) and sing and arrange jazz standards and pop tunes in ways that are the most interesting to me. I earned my Masters in Studio Music and Vocal Jazz Performance from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in 2017 and am currently writing and arranging songs for my premiere album. I began teaching piano and voice lessons in 1996 when I was a college student. I was trained to teach by the director of Studio 90 Music School in Massachusetts. I then went on to acquire my own students, and travelled around the greater Boston area teaching children and adults in their homes. I have also taught out of many local music stores.
