In 2006, I graduated from The Peabody Consveratory of Music with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. Performing all over the world to include the U.S. and Europe has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician. I have always been a musician first and everything else second. I have found fulfillment in sharing music with others as a teacher, performer and music therapist. I graduated in May with my master's in voice from the Eastman School of Music. I hold bachelor's degrees and certifications in music education and music therapy. What you need to most of all is practice your scales, and anything we went over previously. I will ask you to bring in a piece you like, a song perhaps. I start each student with the Frances Clark Series. This is terrific in introducing all musical components to the learner. It starts off right away using ALL the notes on the piano. Black notes are used exclusively in some repertoire. Each building block is built upon the next and it just nicely adds , in a non-threatening way to what the student has learned before. I intersperse these books with other more seasonal books and the student and I build on that. Read More
