I also like to teach my students basic music theory to give them a better understanding of how music is structured and to deepen their overall musicianship. For beginners, I like to start with the Standard of Excellence book 1, and intermediate students with book 2. The trombone is such a versatile instrument that there are tons of different styles of playing to practice. Depending on the student's level I will build curriculum for them.
