I encourage all my students to learn the basic rudiments of music including music theory, sight-reading and playing ‘by ear’. I recommend Mel Bay’s “Children’s Guitar Method” and Hal Leonard’s “Guitar Method Book 1” for school age children. However, many of my students have decided to concentrate on learning basic theory involving chords and scales to develop ability to play ‘by ear’. When working with voice students I focus on basic theory, breath control, and vocal scales to develop student’s ability to discern musical intervals. Read More

I make sure that all my students stay happy in the lesson and excited to learn new things. Read More

I have studied music since childhood and the journey of knowledge continues through each day. My true passion for musical study started in 1995 when I started studying under Berklee College of Music graduate Mark Brandt. After learning about the freedom of expression found through improvising and jazz approach I was hooked for life. Read More

I am adamant about each student growing at his/her own pace. I will never force a student to go places they simply do not wish to go. The goal is to keep it fun, and foster those unique aha moments with the student and the craft. At the beginning of each lesson, I will set realistic goals, and inspire my students to do more than they thought was possible through music. Read More
