Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I started to teach group music class and private lesson when I was in undergraduate. I always try to bring everything I learned from performance, music education, observing other music teacher and my own experience to every music lesson I gave. Practicing consistently is the most important way to make the lesson experience more pleasant and worthwhile. Other than introducing the music to my students, I also encourage them to perform, because sharing music is also part of the learning process. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to 8/2015. It was a friend through my father's. Since then, I have been consistently teaching in my home studio for 2 years now. Encouraging regular practice is important to produce consistent results. Although I am classically-inclined, contemporary (modern) music goes a long way in helping students to continue enjoying and learning the piano. Students will also participate in Student Day, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers, etc. Read More

My teaching style is dynamic, depending on my student's skill level. The progress of a student's musical skill is dependent on their willingness to practice and focus on improvement discussed during our lessons. Each student of course is on their own path and pace. Positive reinforcement and setting goals are both important to a student's development. Understanding what the student wants to get out of their music lessons is a vital aspect when it comes to their eagerness and enjoyment to practice and progress. Read More

I take the student through reading the roadmap of music: first and second endings, codas, repeat signs, key signatures, Clef signs, DSal coda. dynamics. I introduce the three parts of music: melody, harmony, rhythm. Since ive already discussed melody and counting rhythm I move unto harmony. I go back to the major scale and explain intervals and build chords on the notes of the scale in thirds. I will alter chords with them and construct some interesting chord progressions. Read More

Helping Singers realize their "Dream" is my passion. I gained international recognition as a vocal performer of note, having performed on the stages of Acapulco, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Aruba, Curacao and Buenos Aires, to name a few, as well as major U. S. cities. To date, I have two albums to my credit, "Time Wounds All Heels" and "The 23rd Psalm", the latter containing the highly acclaimed title song that while being performed at the 1984 National Baptist Convention musical in Los Angeles, received a standing ovation by some 6,000 listeners. I have been teaching music for the past 25 years. First in the Public Schools in Tennessee and Florida and at the college level. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
