After that, students can graduate to the Alfred's upper level book series, which includes theory and practical playing books as well as fun solo and popular music books leveled specifically for them. I believe in giving the student considerable freedom in choosing music that will not only benefit them technically, but inspire them. College was where I learned how to teach and play strings, woodwinds, percussion, voice, and piano in addition to brass. I got my start in the experimental Minneapolis music scene as an adolescent in the early 2000's, the spirit of which I carried with me to Oberlin, OH. I got my Bachelors of Music from the conservatory there, where I designed my own major in Contemporary Bass Performance. The major allowed me to pursue my interest in Jazz, Classical, Computer Music and composition, extended techniques, and historical performance. She has opened for Marky Ramone the Speed Kings, D.I., Rev. Norb the Onions, and Val Emmich.
