Hello, I am currently Artist Diploma voice student at Cleveland Institute of Music. I had my Bachelor in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. I studied piano for over 10 years. I always did some accompaniment in China. I taught piano in China and in Cleveland and voice at CSA. I performed in many operas at school also with opera company. My goal as a teacher is to show students the joys of singing and playing music, while instructing them how to be technically proficient and vocally healthy. Through the process, I encourage singers to appreciate what their strengths are and to recognize their weaknesses as challenges. I like to focus on one technical issue at a time, building upon the current strengths without overwhelming the singers. I am a Classical linguist turned Vocal Performer and choral conductor who believes that active participation in music improves quality of life for all ages. This belief comes from a life-time of musical learning and performance spanning violin lessons at the age of 4 all the way to singing on stage with the Cleveland Orchestra, Akron Symphony, Canton Symphony, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras to name a few, as well as a paid vocalist with many fine choral ensembles in the NE Ohio area, including the Summit Choral Society Masterworks Chorale, the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Akron Symphony Chorus, and the Cleveland Singers' Club of the Western Reserve Chorale.
