I studied piano as a child, l year at WSU, l year at MSM and 3 months with Olga Sukhover in Seattle l year studyiing piano at UW I played flute in the Issaquah Chamber Orchestra, the UW Band, and Clarinet with Ballard Civic Orchestra (Latino) and with Seattle Symphonic Band I studied clarinet at Northwestern, Manhattan School of music, and University of Washington, and WSU. I teach music to all ages, and my style varies depending on the age of the students. With young students, I may give them a little theory but more so focus on what music they like may like and want to learn. I find playing along with CDs work for some students as long they have fun. For the adults I bring it to a different level but again using similar methods, for example learning minor or major scales on guitar or piano, timing is also what I focus on as well. Read More

I prefer students come to me with contemporary songs they have interest in learning because it is so much easier to retain and develop a love for music when it's a song YOU want to learn. If a student doesn't have a song they want to learn at first, that's perfectly fine!
