My teaching style is personalized, goal-oriented, but also fun focused. I take a personalized approach, focusing on understanding each student's unique vocal goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. By setting large, medium, and small SMART goals, I ensure that progress is tangible and attainable, helping students build confidence in their vocal abilities. I also believe in making the lessons feel fun and be gratifying in the process of hitting smaller goals and Student Learning Outcomes, as the student also works towards more long term goals. I believe communication is of the upmost importance. I communicate with parents to let them know how the student is doing, what we are working on, and what to do next. As mentioned above, I tailor to my student's needs based on their understanding and pace. Some students move a little slower than others in certain areas, and some move faster. For example, one student of the same age may understand sheet music quickly, but have a hard time with scales. Read More

I believe that teaching voice does not involve a one-size-fits-all method. Every one is different, and therefore every voice is unique. It's important to treat each voice individually. A positive teaching environment is vital to encourage a student's progress. Lessons should also be fun. If the student is not having fun then something is not right. I also listen to the students and find out what repertoire and styles they would like to work on. Read More

Teaching Voice is 90% being a cheerleader and the other 10% technique. Voice is so mental because the instrument is apart of us. This fact is why I love teaching voice so much. I love cheering my students on to first find their natural talent, and then polish their talent with different technique and methods. I also realize that there are many different styles of music, and I would never hinder my students from pursuing whatever style is their passion. Read More

This is where I think it is fun to be creative because we are all different. Everybody has a different method of interpretation and I feel like that is my job to figure out what works for you as an individual. For example I will simply ask you questions like what style of music are you listening to and songs you want to learn how to play. It is also my job to know the difficulty level and how to guide you in the right direction to keep things fun! Read More

I believe first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student’s decision to study and/or play music. In order to fully develop control, musicality and understanding of the music language, it is important to focus on several aspects of music including music theory (scale and harmonic structure/function and rhythm) ear-training, reading and performance skills. Like any aspect of life, consistency and patience are two very important qualities to posses when working towards a goal. Read More
