Performing in many different environments from singing the National Anthem for dignitaries to Musical Theater from the age of 15. I have lived all over the world and being the daughter of a Diplomat has given me wonderful opportunities to perform in many different cultures. I taught privately for the past 25 years, teaching those grade levels and then began teaching senior citizens almost 10 years ago. Im currently a worship director for a church in the Leesburg area where I work with people of all ages. If they are percussionists I want an idea of where they are and what they are looking to accomplish. I have a variety of reps and books to use for them. The methods that I normally use are the Alfred Basic Piano Library, and the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures. I also use technique books such as Fingerpower, Hanon, and Czerny. I always incorporate Music Theory in my lessons as well as improvisation. i am familiar with the Royal Conservatory of Music technical requirements and find them necessary to any student wanting to become proficient at piano/keyboard playing. I use may online worksheets for theory, improvisation and fun repertoire as well. i am open to the needs of the student but also have a structured method of teaching so that all aspects of the music learning process is followed.
