I base my teaching methods on the student I am teaching. For students that are children at a beginner level, I typically begin with the essential elements of creating vocal foundation which I draw from many sources. Once we have set a good foundation, we tend to begin working on repertoire that is appropriate for the level at which they are singing, using those songs as learning opportunities. For adults, I begin by asking about the goals of the individual student and I then formulate a strategy to help the student reach their specific singing goals. Read More

Music is a language! I teach music in a similar manner as we learn to speak. We learn to speak through trial and error having no wrong words and music should be taught in a similar fashion, where there are no wrong notes. We learn our speaking style, manner and/or accents by what we hear and this concept also applies to music; therefore listening is a crucial part for advancement and the pleasure of learning. My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. In my work as a teacher, I have helped students prepare for school competitions, studio recitals, talent shows, solo and ensemble contest, and musical auditions. Read More

I always start with a strong Classical Foundation, and also specialize in Musical Theatre and Contemporary Styles. Some students love classical music, and we work on Italian arias...while others love 80s Metal Bands, and we work on healthy ways to approach contemporary music. For Musical Theatre, I make sure my students have a wide range of genres at the ready, so they are equally prepared to audition for both My Fair Lady or Hamilton. Read More

I have been immersed in music for as long as I can remember, with a lifelong passion for both performing and teaching. My journey began with formal training in classical voice at a young age, which laid a solid foundation for my musical endeavors. Throughout my education, I pursued various avenues of musical exploration, from studying music theory and composition to delving into different genres such as jazz and contemporary styles. Read More

My teaching style focuses on a combination of vocal excercises and repertoire designed to enforce the techniques that I am teaching you. I also will have you bring in any repertoire you would like to sing. Understand that I am here to teach you how to sing the repertoire you want to perform, and I won’t try to make you a classical singer unless you want to be one.???? Read More

I am warm and vulnerable, I find being open is the best way to develop my students' trust. Trust is key. It is important to me that students progress at their own pace however slow or fast that may be. I help set goals for development that are challenging but realistic. We will celebrate achieving those goals together. Nothing inspires me more than seeing the light go on inside a student as they grasp a challenging concept. Read More
