I have loved music ever since childhood. I come from a musical performance family and have been blessed with the ability to play various instruments as well as sing. During my teen years I performed in a singing group that was the opening act for many major recording artist of the day. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I have been teaching music since 1995 to all ages and levels. I enjoy motivating students to reach their artistic potential, and to have fun along the way! I have taught university-level music courses, and am presently teaching elementary school music classes. I am also a mentor teacher for teaching artists in the Baltimore-Washington area via Young Audiences of Maryland, Prince George's County Public Schools, and the Teaching Artist Institute.
