The most important aspect of music, for me, is to enjoy what you are doing. I entered the world of music as an escape from my rigorous Engineering curriculum. The last thing I want is for my students to become too stressed or frustrated with their learning. Therefore, I ensure that all students go at a comfortable pace while setting challenging, but realistic, goals for themselves. I have given piano lessons on and off as early as ten years ago when I was first starting my undergraduate studies. Through my time at Mansfield University, I studied piano and developed my skills to an advanced level. My studies in Music Theory and Composition at Binghamton University have also aided in my composing skills. The advancement of Kimberlys soulful style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that she was always surrounded by many styles of music. Her mother is a part-time Gospel pianist and/director and her father is a part-time Gospel/RB bassist. Being exposed by both parents to a wealth of music as a child influenced her music development. I have taught privately now for over a decade, as well as in classrooms and given masterclasses to all ages. I worked with pre-K through to the collegiate level in Philadelphia. I also work in communities, bridging gaps geographically and ideologically through musical experiences. I have taught in the United States, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
