I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and prefer to tailor my methods to the needs and goals of the student. Singing is a difficult skill to teach. Our instrument is internal and is affected by our emotions, stress level, how much sleep we've had, even what we ate for breakfast! Because of this, I feel it is important to maintain a comfortable environment. I encourage my students to let go of their self-doubt and allow themselves to make mistakes. Voice Students:While the basis for my vocal technique is rooted in the classical Bel Canto tradition, my students do not end up having a "classical" sound (unless that is what they want). I also tend to be a visual instructor , meaning I like to use tricks to teach students different vocal technique.
