I have performed as a section violinist with Round Rock Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Temple Symphony, Laredo Philharmonic, Austin Civic Orchestra, and Gilbert and Sullivan Austin. From 2014 to 2015, I was a violinist of the Modus Novus String Quartet, a new music ensemble formed with graduates of the Berklee College of Music. For beginning student, I usually start with Suzuki Violin School. This is a pretty good methods for student to begin their violin life. There are many etudes like Wohlfahrt's 60 Studies For the Violin, Mazas' 30 Etudes Speciales and so on, I will make their individual plan introduce the Etude which fit them the best to my student to make progress on performance skill efficiently. I teach beginning students both by rote and through reading. We use standard Suzuki books for repertoire and method books such as Wohlfahrt, Mazaz, and Sevcik. Very young students begin on Sassmanshaus since it is very engaging as well as well written. However if there is a specific book a student wants to learn from (such as a book from school or a specific style such as country or fiddle) then I am more than willing to teach from that. Read More
