After graduating high school I relocated to the Austin, Texas area. I have performed as a section violinist with Round Rock Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Temple Symphony, Laredo Philharmonic, Austin Civic Orchestra, and Gilbert and Sullivan Austin. From 2014 to 2015, I was a violinist of the Modus Novus String Quartet, a new music ensemble formed with graduates of the Berklee College of Music. I am a teacher that advocates the necessity to understand music as well as instrument proficiency. Whatever instrument is chosen to learn, I do use curriculum series to accomplish before we move to student's choice of music. I feel that I would do a disservice to students if I also taught related to the instrument only. That being said, maintaining motivation and excitement is also very important to me! My lesson style consists of working on fingering and plucking first from Essential Method Book for Strings or the Suzuki book (for the beginning students who are children). While they (children) are practicing, I encourage/ recommend them to memorize the songs if they can. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.
