Instruments: Piano, Voice, Violin, Flute, Drums, Ukulele, Recorder, Piccolo, Music, Keyboard

For beginning students, I typically start with a Sound Before Symbol Method. That is, we learn to get to know the instrument before adding sheet music and theory. Every student's learning track is individualized- So if you want to learn pop music, I will arrange that for the flute! If classical is what you are interested in, I will bring in the Bach Partitas. Music theory and instrumental music can be taught using any genre, so let's make it what you want to play! Read More

I also have a combined 14 years of orchestral performance experience, beginning with the Dearborn Youth Symphony which lasted ten years. After that my experience increased further by spending four years performing with the Eastern Michigan University Symphony Orchestra. Read More

I am a violin teacher passionate about sharing the joy and beauty of music through high-quality instruction. In December 2023 I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Music and Psychology from Andrews University, where I had been studying under the tutelage of Carla Trynchuk. My goal is to use principles of psychology to make learning music as engaging, understandable, and fulfilling as possible. I emphasize musical excellence through mental health, research-based practice strategies, injury prevention, and embracing the musician as a whole human. Read More

Instruments: Violin

I began teaching privately in 2006 after I graduated from college. I began teaching in my church in New York, to beginner students between the ages of 8 and 15. I continued teaching until 2010, when I began my Master's Degree. I found that by finding out similar interests between myself and the students outside of classical music made it enjoyable for them. I would also give my students a lot of encouragement and sometimes rewards for their hard and diligent work. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Violin, Viola, Ukulele, Electric Violin, Fiddle

I teach beginning students both by rote and through reading. We use standard Suzuki books for repertoire and method books such as Wohlfahrt, Mazaz, and Sevcik. Very young students begin on Sassmanshaus since it is very engaging as well as well written. However if there is a specific book a student wants to learn from (such as a book from school or a specific style such as country or fiddle) then I am more than willing to teach from that. Read More
