When I'm not performing, I keeps himself busy with his teaching schedule by teaching throughout Orange and LA County. As of this updated bio due to COVID-19 (Nov. 2020), I have been doing a hybrid format of teaching, primarily through Zoom with some in person instruction while maintaining orders of social distancing and wearing masks. I also volunteer taught students from low-income families through the Azusa Pacific Conservatory for two years. In the summers of 2010 and 2011, I took over a former teacher's studio of 20+ students while he toured in Europe. My teaching is heavily influenced with my background and experience with the Suzuki method, particularly pertaining to listening, repetition, and immersion. Music is something to practice as if learning another language, as it is another form of expression! Although I use Suzuki books and repertoire in my lessons, I structure and customize lessons plans, tailoring to each individual student. To make the lesson more engaging, I am flexible in regard to choosing music pieces that a student may want to learn or not. I usually ask a student if they have a piece they would like to learn.
