Teacher interaction with hands-on at lessons: In order to help students understand the feeling of correct violin playing, I occasional assist them in such ways as guiding the bow, hands, and arms. I trained at Eastman Conservatory of Music o atthe University of Rochester, New York in the mid 80's. Music is my biggest passion and something I love sharing with my students. I first began taking music lessons at the age of nine and quickly took to piano. A few years later I also began studying the violin. At a young age I fell in love with music and its ability to express emotion and connect people. This is what I hope to pass on to my students. My curriculum is unique for each individual depending on their goals and age, however I generally start beginners out with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements for Strings, and a few of my own exercises as needed. After they have become comfortable with the violin I begin them on the Suzuki books or other solo repertoire. As the student progresses I gradually phase out Essential Elements and replace it with elementary scale books and exercise books. Read More
