I have been playing the violin for the past nine years and have had four excellent violin instructors, each with different backgrounds and approaches to violin instruction. Because of this, I have had well-rounded education in the violin which is a great benefit in my violin teaching. Up to this point, I have taught violin to six different students and have seen each of them make remarkable progress. For students who are children, I have a vareity of teaching style opportunities including the Suzuki Method, Essential Elements, Janice Rhoda's Complete Techniques, and other teaching methods. All of my students recieve education in music theory, rhythm, aural skills (voice/ear lessons), performance techniques, sight reading, and of course intrument technique. I have been teaching professionally for 11 years. Before I began my professional teaching career I already had several years of experience instructing my two younger siblings in violin and cello, even serving as a primary instructor to one of the siblings at one point. I have mainly taught private lessons out of my home. However, I was also a violin teaching assistant at the University of Oklahoma, I have helped teach private and group classes for music camps and events across the country, and am currently employed at School of Creative Arts in Cary.
