I started giving trombone lessons to grade and high school student's since 2005. In 2006 I started leading concert and jazz bands. Immediately out of college in 2008 I worked as a music teacher teaching guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and voice for 3 years. In 2011, I moved to Peru where I was the #1 on call jazz trombonist in Lima, and was a trombone professor at the National Conservatory of music where I taught trombone technique and jazz improvisation. I love teaching, and I do so with both encouragement and humor. I realize that not everyone can is able or willing to practice six hours a day, so I work with each student individually to find their pace. I am happy teaching both competitive students (I have had several students participate successfully in the ABRSM exams) and students who play purely for enjoyment. My favorite piano methods are Piano Adventures and Piano Pronto, and I like to combine both of them. Read More

I studied at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London before going to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester at 18. When working with younger students, my approach is twofold. First, I like to work with Alfred's Basic Series to establish a solid goundwork for reading music and mastering technique. Second, I like to cater the lessons to the student's particular interest, whether preparing solo pieces, practicing theory through ear training and sight reading, or writing compositions. Studied Piano Pedagogy with Mary Elizabeth Land and has been teaching private piano lessons for 35 years.  As a member of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs, students have the opportunity be adjudicated by some of the top musicians in Florida at Festival.  Ninety-nine percent of students in Cyndi's studio earn Superior rating at Festival. Cyndi also leads children's choirs in the area and sings in the Don Thompson Chorale, a community chorus in Jacksonville. Read More
