With the understanding that playing the violin can be quite difficult, I find simplyfying complex ideas can acheive great results with no stress. Whether you are preparing for a solo recital, school or community concert, or personal enjoyment we will still be focusing on developing a tension-free technique as well as taste and style. No matter the age or experience, I try to have a continuous dialogue between the student and myself about their progress and what direction they'd like to head in to make sure they are engaging with material that suits their needs and goals at the same time. I have maintained private violin and viola teaching studios in Illinpis, Iowa, Missouri, South Carolina and South Korea. I am passionate about sharing music in the community and have helped curate musical storytimes at several local libraries in my community. In June 2023, I graduated with a Masters degree at Northwesterns Bienen School of Music. Passionate about orchestral playing, I have held concertmaster and principal positions with the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, South Side Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, UCLA Philharmonia, Colburn orchestras, American Youth Symphony, and the Debut Orchestra.
