In essence, my love of teaching stems from my Mom's love of teaching. She sincerely desired to teach my siblings and myself to pursue our highest dreams. It turned out that I did succeed as a star performer in music, on stages around the world. But also, when I decided to settle down, I added education to my 10-year plan. So, I went back to school for another master's degree, and taught music in CPS - performing three nights per week with my the Bartels/Benson duo, Connexion Band, Prohibition Orchestra, Bryan Skyler Trio, and other groups. The courses I took of music theory, private lessons, group lessons, and orchestra focused on countless composers and many styles, specifically within the Suzuki method. My ear for listening and playing, sight reading, and composing through improv has been practiced for 17 years now. Through being a Ballerina as well, I have a deeper understanding of musicality and what it means to feel the music. Hello! My name is Renee, I am a senior at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. I started in 2018 with a talent grant in violin playing and have performed with the WIU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras since then. I started playing the violin at 8 years old with no instructor. I have performed for weddings, nursing homes, church services, and other events. I will be graduating in July of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Violin Performance and will go on to audition to pursue my Master's degree as well. Read More
