My passion is teaching. It's my profession, as well as my hobby (I am a Volunteer Sunday School Teacher). My main goal in music lessons is to make the experience enjoyable for the student -- I'm not very strict when it comes to progress. For beginner piano students, we will start with becoming familiar with notes names and where the notes are located. We will then move on to three and five finger patterns for right and left hand. I have created my own materials for practice on note names. The next area that I will introduce is rhythm. I have created my own materials for practice on that area as well. I started teaching violin at The Miracle Center, through the After School Matters program 10 years ago. Since then I've been violin teacher at several Chicago Public Schools, Chicago District Parks and violin teacher at the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance. I currently teach at CPS schools Thorp Scholastic Academy and Coonley Elementary. I've worked with students of all ages and enjoy finding new and fun ways to approach leaning. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I am a passionate and driven violinist who enjoys enriching the lives of others with the joy of music. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. I began performing with the Fox Valley Orchestra during my second year of university and continue to perform with them today.
