With beginners and early age students I combine Susuki and traditional method along a series of exercises and songs that help them build the core of violin playing. I make sure that I provide my students the necessary tools to succeed. With my students I have developed a curriculum that covers technique, scales and repertory. For advanced students I work Jaques Dont studies, Kreutzer etudes, Scales and Arpeggios, and we cover Baroque and Classical violin repertory like Vivaldi and Bach concerti. Read More

I mainly teach the Suzuki method, especially for beginner/intermediate players. After Book 5, I tend to use conservatory repertoire such as technique books ( Sevcik, Hrimaly), Scale Books, Etudes, and concertos. When it comes to keeping my students interested, I try to find songs that my students are interested in learning. I find those songs according to their level and the technique I want to teach them and then move on from there. Read More

I teach students in either the Traditional method, or the Suzuki Method. I am also capable of doing a hybrid method catered to the students needs. If you aren't familiar with Suzuki Method it involves a lot of listening and singing in addition to playing the instrument. For my entire teaching career thus far, I have taught the Suzuki method. I find the sequence of pieces in each book is quite suitable for a young musician. However, I do believe note reading and general music theory should be incorporated into lessons right from the beginning, especially if the child does not have a background in piano.
