Teaching for 12 years and playing for 18 years has really inspired me to cater to every age, and the student’s personal goals and their particular culture as there are no limitations to my style. I have experience creating music programs for church ministries, learning centers, music academies and more. My programs offer growth within child development skills as an individual as well as a group setting, helping the student to be more confident at a young age and continue to grow as well for adults, give challenges to the student, fun games for memorization of music and to enjoy the lessons, and most importantly how to share their gift with family and friends while going through performing etiquette training. I am an instructor that have great passion for teaching, and believes that everyone should have the chance to learn an instrument, no matter the age. I started playing the Violin in 2004, Viola in 2009 and Piano in 2011. I graduated with a Bachelor in Music Performance specializing in Violin in 2015 from Barry University in Miami Shores. During my time, I have performed and held performances with musicians from many different orchestras based in Atlanta and South Florida, including learning from members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and performances with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. My cello instruction is separated by levels and books. Level 0-1 is in Hal Leonard's Essential Elements books 1 and 2. Level 1-2 is Rick Mooney's Position Pieces Book 1, as well as sheet music and books outside of that method book. Level 2-3 is Rick Mooney's Position Pieces Book 2 and sheet music, and 3+ will be Rick Mooney's Thumb Position books. I teach the basics using a combination of methods, customizing lessons to each student's skill level, ability level, and interest (classical/folk/modern). For beginning students I suggest using the Suzuki Method, or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once each student is ready to move beyond the fundamentals, I find exercises and solos to best fit and improve their skill level for recital performances, competitions, strings class/orchestra, or other activities. We can come up with a plan to help you define your goals, a practice plan to meet your needs, and I always encourage students to perform, enter auditions/competitions, and/or recitals, open mic nights, school ensembles, All State, Solo/Ensemble, out of school ensembles.
