From 2020 - present, every summer I have been teaching at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. This jazz camp is a week-long intensive learning experience. Jazz musicians from all over the U.S. come to teach at the camp and help the students learn about jazz. In this camp I had the responsibility of teaching theory, improvisation, sight reading, and musicality with playing. Other experience I have teaching is every so often I get hired to fill in for a teacher to teach a jazz combo at a youth jazz program in Atlanta. Read More

I love seeing students realize their own progress. I always like to start with recording a first attempt and then recording it again once it has been mastered so they can see their progress. I focus on positive reinforcement teaching. It is very easy, especially for a new student, to get bogged down in not making progress fast enough so I like to make sure they see all the steps they're taking and also know where it will lead them. Ever since, I have taught piano at different schools and studios in different states for all ages with all levels. I began teaching voice lessons in 1995 while living in Los Angeles, CA. I worked with many production and management companies developing unsigned and signed artists. I started teaching one-on-one so the students could get the results for strengthening their voice. As I always say "Singing is Breathing" so the first exercise I teach is proper diaphragmatic breathing to increase vocal range.
