This emphasis also prevents injuries, and I've found it always improves the speed at which we learn. My teaching style is always relaxed. I like to start out with the Hannon Book. That has various excercises that helps with note recognition. Worksheets will be given out with those as well. Teaching students HOW to read notes, and HOW to recognize them takes a few weeks so that's normally what i like to start with.
