While I have taught violin lessons since 2010, my most recent passion for teaching occurred when I became an Adjunct Professor of Violin at New York University from 2016-2018. I held this position for two years while I was simultaneously completing my Masters degree, and maintained a studio of 10 students each semester. While at NYU, I taught a variety of students, from complete beginners to advanced violin players. There I began to fall in love with sounds, especially the sounds of bowed string instruments and started to learn Viola and Violin. I also make it a point to observe how they learn and what is successful for them along with what doesn't work so well. I use educational tools such as videos and games to also teach, especially for the younger ones. This makes them enjoy the lesson more I've found. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
