Since moving to Texas, I have started orchestra programs at two different schools in Dallas county, while continuing to build my own studio. Many of my students have gone on to be very successful in youth orchestras, school programs, and music conservatories. During my senior year at university, I had the opportunity to serve as a faculty member for my university's pre-college music program. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. For intermediate students I try to make it fun, according to their ages, may be throw some pop tunes here and there, or if they are more serious into classical then I would definitely enjoy the challenge of teaching relaxation techniques during difficult passages such as double stops, high positions, string crossings, etc. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
