As soon as I meet with a student or a group of students, I make sure they are welcomed by an energetic teacher before getting started on their lesson. I try to keep the student(s) engaged by showing them different ways and approaches to music from books and my own personal approaches to help them grow knowing their teacher is well experienced. I am an active member of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). My students take the Certificate of Merit (CM) test annually in performance, theory, sight-reading and ear training. Taking the CM test is optional but highly recommended. I also make sure my students have plenty of chances at performing on stage at recitals by organizing my own recitals or joining forces with other MTAC teachers. I directed strings of IDream Junior Orchestra and the IBC Junior Orchestra in many public performances for years. I also directed viola section of Purme Orchestra in Seoul, Korea. I have taught part time through the Chicago Public Schools where I worked with two kindergarden aged students.
