Since graduating with my Masters in Cello Performance in 2005 from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I have been consistently teaching. Most of my teaching for the past 13 years has been going to students' homes. I also encourage the students to participate in yearly recitals and local community engagements throughout the year. When I think of music, I always think of the quote: "Where words fail, music speaks," by Hans Christian Anderson.  When I am teaching, nothing means more to me than seeing one of my students who was shy and not confident with themselves grow into a confident and enthusiastic person, both with music and in their life. I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1992, I graduated from Baruch (CUNY) with a degree in Applied Music. I have performed in Nashville and in New York City which has been one of my greater experiences as a musician, and I have had the opportunity to play at Jazz and Country Western clubs. I also am part of the September Concert Event every year for the past 9 years performing with my students and holding a tribute with The Loupakis Gymnastics from Astoria in Athens Square Park. I recognize that and feel that instruction tailored to a student's individual style will make for faster and more rewarding progress. Also, I feel that a positive environment that acknowledges accomplishments with positive reinforcement makes for a stable and fun learning environment. I am a very supportive teacher but at the same I am very adamant about the student reaching their potential. I really go out of my way to help a student to grow as a musician, so they can feel how rewarding it is. I believe the role of teacher is a very important one and we make a big impact on student's lives. I like to keep things fun and positive, with an element of always knowing what the goal is ahead.
