I am a violist first and foremost with eleven years of training, in addition to studying piano for thirteen years and violin for five. I teach from a flexible curriculum depending on the student's goals and interests. If someone wants to learn technique, music theory, songwriting, how to play Taylor Swift songs, arranging, composing, confidence, et cetera we will work on what is driving them to take lessons and learn! I don't have a singular method because every student is different. At the beginning of my lessons with a new student we will begin getting to know each other. Then we try different things. Some students are naturals at imitating what they hear, so we play to those strengths. Other students are more comfortable with structure and math, so we take that route instead. I have over 15 years of teaching experience with students of all ages, from 3 year-olds to adults.  I am an upbeat and engaging teacher who focuses on proper form and technique, while maintaining the student's interest and encouraging creativity.  I teach a combination of Suzuki and traditional methods, catered to the needs of the individual.
