I believe music is unique because of individuality. I make lesson plans depending on each student's interests and learning progress. For young beginners, I encourage lots of participation from parents because it helps children feel supportive and it is always nice to see how much they grow. I like advanced students to express their ideas about the needs and wants as well as musical ideas. Different opinions would make lessons more interesting and inspiring. Read More

In June 2023, I graduated with a Masters degree at Northwesterns Bienen School of Music. Passionate about orchestral playing, I have held concertmaster and principal positions with the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, South Side Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, UCLA Philharmonia, Colburn orchestras, American Youth Symphony, and the Debut Orchestra. I have also been lucky enough to tour globally to France, Russia, Finland, and Estonia. Presently, I am building my teaching studio throughout the Chicago area. Read More

I am a passionate and driven violinist who enjoys enriching the lives of others with the joy of music. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. I began performing with the Fox Valley Orchestra during my second year of university and continue to perform with them today. On top of that, I also teach violin at a Chicago Public School through an El Sistema program. Read More

My music backround goes back to my pre-teen days with a toy guitar and singing in front of my second grade class. Formal training began in junior high with the saxophone which continued through high school and my college years at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I became interested in the guitar and played with many groups and ensambles. Then became interested in the violin and fell in love with it. I have been playing for the past fifteen years and teaching for five. Read More

Every student progresses at their own pace. So many factors will determine progress such as age, experience, instrument, and learning style. I do what is necessary to adapt to these different things to ensure my students are learning what is necessary, progressing, and still having fun all at the same time! I also ensure to incorporate music theory as part of my course as well so students are as well-rounded as possible. Read More

Playing an instrument is almost like training for an athletic sport; it is important that the body is properly engaged safely in order to produce a beautiful sound and prevent injury. Injury has been a concern amongst string players, and tension tends to develop in the body in ways we don't even realize until something goes wrong. With this in mind as well as my teaching method, I encourage my students to develop an awareness of the body as well as good thinking processes to ensure that they have a healthy perspective on their own progress and relieve any tension that could possibly manifest in the body. My passion is teaching. It's my profession, as well as my hobby (I am a Volunteer Sunday School Teacher). My main goal in music lessons is to make the experience enjoyable for the student -- I'm not very strict when it comes to progress. In my opinion, a student should genuinely enjoy playing their instrument because progress inevitably follows. I love to do risk-free trials because the student and the teacher need to have a certain rapport for the lessons to be fully effective. Read More
