My favorite quote is: "All students have gifts, they just open their presents have different times." I work with students where they are and at their pace. I start beginners with Essential Elements 2000 for Strings. As students progress I use Samuel Applebaum method books, traditional etudes like Wolfhardt and Sevick, Suzuki books and solo pieces as appropriate. I teach Traditional Classical string instruction. I will work to find pieces that students find interesting and keep my instruction engaging and fun for all of my students of all ages. Read More

I'm a music education major that graduated from Mansfield University in 2016. As a performing musician, I have had the opportunity to perform some of the most demanding pieces for piano solo, as well as collaborative music. As a teacher, I have had the privilege to teach beginner to advanced level students on the piano. Although I enjoy teaching piano, I also study and teach string instruments. I am also a composer and enjoy writing my own music, as well as writing music to help out my students. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons for the last 6 years and began teaching in the public school system in spring of 2022. This fall, I will be a long-term substitute orchestra teacher for North Allegheny School District. My education at Duquesne was entirely focused on music education. I took various courses in instrument methodology for brass, woodwind, and string instruments, and studied leading pedagogy practices from distinguished educators. I studied cello with PSO musician Adam Liu, and performed challenging works for solo cello in my studio as well as orchestral works with the full Duquesne Symphony Orchestra. Read More

I like to be encouraging and positive in lessons! I also like to maintain a certain standard :)! I think developing consistency in practice even if it starts at 15 mins a day is key to success. There is a lot of muscle memory and training involve and it requires consistency. I do my best to set realistic and clear weekly goals for each student and encourage them along the way! I find if one is consistent with practice, usually within a semester (6 months) or earlier, one can play their first song and feel comfortable to perform in public within 1 years time! Read More

I am a positive, energetic teacher who is passionate about helping students to foster and shape their talents and passions. I grew up in eastern PA in the Allentown area and went to college at Duquesne University. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Performing locally and throughout the world has been one of the greatest experiences as a musician. I have had the opportunity to perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, and at various locations in Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria. I use the Suzuki method mixed with my own methodology, I use for sure the Suzuki books, and I use also a book called "Fiddle Time Joggers". It is special for very young children, and I paint the notes of this book to teach my younger students what string they need to play. I try always to explain in the best possible way my knowledge and the topic to my students, and I like to be available for them all the time. Read More
